<lj:music>RHCP - Tear</lj:music>

I -THINK- it is currently coming up on 5:30am. But for the first time in my life in this electronic age I've been born into, I am NOT at all sure what time it is.

Tonight, March 11, 2007 at 2:00am was to be the beginning of Daylight Savings Time. Usually this is a normal event in most of the world, but this year by the US government's decree DST happened three weeks early. Why, I don't know, (I don't even know why we even DO DST at all, but that's another rant) but it's done nonetheless.

Now, what this means in our technological world, is another chance for the END OF THE WORLD!!!!!

When Y2K happened I giggled a lot at the people who were convinced every nuclear weapon in the world was going to launch and planes would fall from the sky because their clocks went awry. At any rate as we all know, that tragedy was survived without any incident that I can remember. Every clock I owned at that time went on ticking normally without any sort of problem at all.

Tonight, however, HELL WAS UNLEASHED. At least, in my little world! At 2:00am here's what happned. None of our clocks here at the office changed. I blinked, figuring that they should have. The computer department in this place should have worked that out. Nothing changed at whatever rate, so I went about manually doing so when I glanced at the clock on our phone. It was FREAKING OUT. It was ticking (and still is) at double time, and had advanced TWO hours at 2:00am instead of just one. I finished setting all the clocks that I could manually (eight clocks: three Windows PC clocks, a wall clock, and an old-timey decorative mantle style clock, the phone clock, a radio clock, and the clock in my personal cell phone) with the exception of the phone clock which I have no access to set, and all seemed well.

Then, God save us all, at 4:00am, EVERY ELECTRONIC CLOCK I had manually set but one went BACKWARDS an hour to 3:00am. Currently around me, on eight different clocks, only three agree with me on what time it is. The PC clock that didn't change with the rest, the wall clock, and the decorative mantle style clock. Somebody, please! Tell me what time it really is, and when I get to go home from work!!

Clock #1, The Wall Clock: 5:30am
Clock #2, PC Clock #1: 5:30am
Clock #3, PC Clock #2: 4:30am
Clock #4, PC Clock #3: 4:30am
Clock #5, Radio Clock: 4:30am
Clock #6, Cell Phone Clock: 4:30am at the start of this post, updated itself back to 5:30am by its completion
Clock #7, Mantle Clock: 5:30am
Clock #8, Phone Clock: 6:46am at 5:30am and ticking twice as fast as normal

WoW, what a week!

Actually it's been a pretty boring and uneventful week since I last wrote anything, I just wanted some kind of title I could type "WoW" into.

Shameful as some may consider it to be, Hannah and I have begun playing World of Warcraft again. Vanguard, though as wonderful as I had dreamed just takes to damn long to play for our busy lives right now. I miss mah RPGs when I feel like I'm neglecting to play them! It took a little doing to convince her back into it, but I think we're both enjoying the game again as much as ever. I LOVE the Blood Elves and thought up some really nifty characters for us. Then we stumbled across a freaking amazing guild of really good people and some of the best roleplayers I've interacted with in the longest time. I'm looking forward to seeing what more this little adventure back to there brings us. I made an awesome signature thingy for forums and such as my new charrie, here lookit!

Kilanna Siggy

In other news, I've had an unexpected roomate for the past week. I'm too nice of a person, or this would have only lasted a few days. I can't help it I guess, I've been computerless before for long periods of time. I understand the addiction, but still, a girl (and her girlfriend!) needs her (and their!) privacy (sex). Nonetheless, my friend is still here, currently asleep on my new couch. Promised to be going home tonight no matter what, but we'll see! I'd never have survived the whole college dorm thing, I'm glad I never went to a state college.

In other other news, the power went out at work the other night, it was awesome. I got to sit and do nothing at all but read my book (by the light of my cell phone) most of the night AND have an excuse for it! A car hit some pole and knocked everything out for like a mile. Even our emergency lights went out after a while, so it was PITCH BLACK and amazing. I'm not afraid of the dark or anything like that, but I like to freak myself out sometimes. For instance I've pretty much convinced myself there's a ghost living in this one dark little area of the building I work in, and I now have to avoid it. My fake ghost for the time of my little blackout had free reign over the building, I think. But it's okay, I am unharmed!

That's plenty of an update for now I think, time for shutting up and going away! B'bye!

Days off were nice despite the end of them which resulted in me being the annoyed victim of a failed eBay scam. Hannah and I got snowed in together and got to spend a nice snuggly night together. Best times ever pretty much! I can't wait until this summer when she'll finally move in with me.

Pretty much had a good, fun, relaxing, procrastinating time. I didn't get much done in life but snuggles and TV watching, and I kind of feel like I've been wasting my life, but that's okay! I can't think of a much better way to spend it, really.

My tax return came back today! Which offset the annoyance of the eBay scam. $902 which didn't even get the chance to burn a hole in my pocket as I had a bed to buy. I've been doing a lot of future planning and such with my money lately. Buying a lot of furniture and appliances and such. Lots of nice stuffs! Like I said I'm taking full advantage of living for free in a basement would-be apartment.

Need to buy a couple of desks, but that's about all that's left on my shopping list for now.

Well, that's enough random typings for now I think. More rants and raves and possibly rants about raves later!

<lj:music>Woosh of a heater and the click clicking of keys</lj:music>

Soooo, I'm trying to sell my old iPod on eBay (stop with the cute lower case first letters, companies!) and I get an email from someone telling me they're excited to buy it for their son as a gift! So I read on, hmm.. Their son is currently attending classes in Nigeria. Well, I guess that's alright, go on. He says he will gladly pay the extra shipping cost, and to please send him an invoice.

Alright, simply mentioning Nigeria is an immediate red flag for a scam, but the guy sounded nice enough so I thought I'd continue and sent him the invoice. Paypal sent me an email confirming that he sent the payment! Wait a second.. There are weird grammatical errors in this email. Paypal's a pretty professional business, I've not known such things from them. Hmm.. Wait another second, this is my private email address, not my Paypal account address. What is going on here? *checks the from email address* This isn't from Paypal at all.

Then the jerk sends me another email saying he's sent the payment and I will recieve my money after I recieve a tracking number and the shipment confirmed.

Nice try, jackass. Better luck next time with your scamming.

I miss the early days when eBay wasn't so big and you could actually safely buy and sell things on there. Now it seems just bloated and full of spam and scams. Suppose eBay will take care of things for me in my case, but it's so damn annoying. I want the wasted hour of my life back. Says the girl who's now extending said hour by making a post about her plight.

Home from another night of wok! And now I get two wonderful slushy days off.

This morning was funner than usual. For one, I got to finish A Clash of Kings, the second book of A Song of Ice and Fire by George R. R. Martin. I'm new to the series, but so far LOVE it, it's some of the best writing I've ever read. If you've not heard of it, and somehow happen to be reading THIS of all things, stop with the blogs and go read a really good book series!

For two, pretty much everyone I work for didn't do their jobs the day before. It was chaos, but hilarious in its own way. I got a few laughs at people's stupidity and actually had a few things to make me feel useful for a change.

Schools are cancelled today, cheers for the high school kids. Though I have no real idea why they're cancelled, the roads are basically fine here. It doesn't really pertain to me, yet for some reason even though I haven't been in high school for 5-6 years now I still get giddy when school is cancelled. I wonder if that feeling will ever go away?

Well, should be getting to sleep soon. Mmm, days off..

    <lj:music>Silence again! (I like this song)</lj:music>

Apparently the kind livejournal people were good enough to welcome me twice! I'm sorry, but you're wrong, I have made a post, and just to prove it, here is my second one! I'm back from another deeply exciting night of working third shift security and settling in to drift off to sleep, but I figured first I might try this whole posting thing.

S'pose this early part is where I'm to talk about myself on and on telling everyone insiginificant little details about me that no one would ever care about, (particularly not my non-existant LJ readers) ending with an unexpected auto-biography. I'll skip most of that and just talk about the important things, elaborate on my profile biography a little bit.

Suppose I'll start with names. The "keisya" thing is just a common name I use for characters in games I play. She's got a humongous backstory that's way more epic and interesting than mine, but I'll save that for later provided everyone behaves. My name is Nicole, don't you dare read that to say Nikki, I was plagued by that enough as a teenager. Most people these days call me Nikol, a name I invented to kill Nikki, I haven't really heard Nikki much since. Nikol is just a strange combination of Nikki and Nicole, and pronounced with a little bit more of an "ee" on the i. It'd be my LJ login, but some other clever Nicole took it.

I live in a moderate-sized town in south-central Indiana where I lead a mostly happy life working security. More or less my security job involves watching over some 2500 stores in the midwestern area for a company and calling the police if bad people try to do bad things in them. You'd think from the things you see on the news I'd be more busy, but mostly I sit and read books or play handheld games or whatever I can do to amuse myself.

I live in a small apartment *mumbles* whichhappenstobeinmyparent'sbasement *coughs* Erm, it's good though, living here lets me buy things for the future and save up a good deal of money. Not a luxury many people get to have, so I'm taking full advantage of it.

I'm more or less always surrounded by good people. If not, at least one good person I know will always be there. My girlfriend Hannah is that person, I could never ask for anyone better to hope I get to spend my entire life with. About three years we've been together so far, and we've gone through hell to get here. Our relationship has had some trials that no people should ever have to strive through, but it's made it that much stronger. I won't elaborate just now because that would be going against my earlier vow, but suffice to say it's been a long three years. Never did WE have problems with each other, I can't even remember any serious normal relationship woes we've had. More it was others having problems with us which prevented us from being able to be together. Think Romeo and Julietish. Despite all our difficulties however, these three years have been wonderful. We're currently taking our first happy steps into our futures we can share together, and we couldn't be closer.

I'm a pretty open-minded person and can find enjoyment in just about anything, but roleplaying is my main outlet in life for entertainment. I've been doing it (mostly in MMORPGs) since I was 14, and I'm currently 23. Nearly 10 years now! I enjoy it as much now as I ever did. More recently since quitting college and getting a boring mostly do-nothing job I've been getting into writing, and I've written mostly back-stories for my characters and such. My most recent one however has gone from a simple back story to something more like a novella, and I keep adding to it constantly. One day I hope I can work it all out and make a whole novel out of it. Wouldn't you be excited?! Then you can say, "Hey, I read that lady's first LJ post!" when you see it on a best-sellers rack at a bookstore! ......Don't look at me like that, just go away and let me dream.

Okay, I think that's enough for now, and it's time for sleeping. I'll type something else some other time, maybe.
